FATHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

A father is a son’s hero, a daughter’s first love, and a wife’s first baby. Fathers are hardworking and inspiring leaders. On Friday June 16, 2023 at the African Regent Hotel, the Canada Ghana Chamber of Commerce held a surprise dinner for all the men in the Chamber. This was to help them relax and enjoy themselves while assimilating the best of advice from our special invited guest. Honorable Hackman Owusu-Agymang was the special guest for the occasion. He is a Husband, Father, politician, a diplomat and an entrepreneur who has gained rich experiences in life. Addressing the event, Honorable Hackman Owusu-Agyemang encouraged the men to maintain a healthy work life balance and be great leaders both at home and in their workplace. Sharing his experience as a father, he mentioned how close he lived with his children which gave him the opportunity to influence his son to pursue a career in Medicine. As a diplomat, he worked and rose through the ranks at the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) to become the Chief Regional Bureau for Africa. As an entrepreneur, he established many companies notable amongst them is Sikelele, which specializes in the sales of Hardware, Paints, and building materials. Politically, he was the former Member of Parliament for New Juabeng North Constituency and also served as Minister for Foreign Affairs, Interior and Water Resources, Works and Housing. Currently, he is the Chairman of the Council of Elders of the ruling National Patriotic Party (NPP). Hon. Owusu-Agyemang urged both Ghanaian and Canadian companies in the Chamber to continue to work together and deepen the relationship between these two countries. Concluding his remarks, he urged all the men to continue being exceptional fathers in their homes and inspirational leaders at work.
