We are delighted to share the highlights of a remarkable evening that took place on the 9th of November at the Labadi Beach Hotel, where the Canada Ghana Chamber of Commerce (CANCHAM) and CCI France Ghana collaborated to host an integrated networking cocktail. The event aimed to promote and reinforce commercial ties between the esteemed members of both chambers.
Mr. Sekou Coulibaly, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CCIF Ghana, extended a warm welcome to both chambers and expressed gratitude for the unwavering support from members.
Addressing the press, Mr. Coulibaly appealed to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) to adopt a fair approach to tax collection especially with the private sector, considering its significant contribution to the economy.
Mrs. Linda K. Vasnani, Vice President of CANCHAM and Chief Operations Officer of Consolidated Shipping Agencies, acknowledged the presence of council members in attendance. She urged companies with an interest in Canadian business partnerships, suppliers, and investors to become members of the Canada Ghana Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Vasnani stressed on the growth potential that such engagement could bring to their respective businesses.
Andrew Maharaj, Senior Trade Commissioner of the Canadian High Commission, in a brief remark highlighted the harmonious relationship between Canada’s English and French provinces; showcasing how Canadians can collaborate effectively with diverse partners. He stressed Canada’s ongoing support for Ghanaian businesses through investment, partnership, and bilateral trade to help boost its economy.
Giving the closing remarks, Mr. Alexander Nortey, President of CANCHAM, encouraged all participants to maintain connections and exchange valuable business ideas. Mr. Nortey also mentioned in his interview with the press some expectations of the Chamber from the upcoming budget such as reduction in port charges and tax exemptions for importers and entrepreneurs intending to establish new industries, particularly those involving heavy-duty equipment.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Askia Immigration Consultancy Services for their generous sponsorship towards this event.
