As part of our engagements for the month of February, the Chamber had the privilege of visiting Africa Skills Hub (ASH), a development and social enterprise-oriented organization in Ghana dedicated to equipping African youth and women with essential skills to drive change in their communities.

During our interaction, Mr. Daniel Antwi, Executive Director of ASH, highlighted their Microcredit Initiative for SME Development, which provides financial support to youth, women, and persons with disabilities. This initiative ensures that trainees receive the necessary capital to start and expand their businesses upon completing their training programs.

Mr. Antwi also shared insights into ASH’s upcoming Agri-Business Youth and Women Dialogue. This event aims to bring together key stakeholders, including the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) and the Ghana Standards Authority, to provide entrepreneurs with vital information on navigating the agribusiness sector. ASH envisions this as an annual flagship event, fostering discussions on attracting and empowering youth and women within the agricultural industry.

The Chamber’s Executive Secretary, Mrs. Edwina Atta-Sonno, commended ASH for its commitment to empowering women and youth. She also encouraged a collaborative effort between ASH and the Chamber to support young women, particularly school dropouts, by equipping them with vocational skills to enhance their livelihoods.
