CANCHAM Strengthens Ties with Members through Annual Visits

The Canada Ghana Chamber of Commerce (CANCHAM) Secretariat recently kicked off its annual visits to members with a stop at Silver Star Tower Limited, a valued Gold member. This visit marked the beginning of a series of engagements aimed at strengthening ties and exploring opportunities for mutual collaboration. During the visit, Alhaji Salah Kweku Kalmoni, Executive Director of Silver Star Tower Limited, highlighted the significant impact of high taxes, including the 5% housing tax, on the sector. He emphasized the need for CANCHAM to advocate for fairer taxation policies and stronger cooperation between the government and business associations to address these pressing concerns. In her response, Mrs. Edwina Atta-Sonno, Executive Secretary of CANCHAM, expressed gratitude for Silver Star Tower’s steadfast support. She reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to addressing member concerns through initiatives like the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) series, which engaged the aspiring presidential candidates on strategies to attract investment to Ghana. Additionally, she highlighted ongoing collaborations with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and the Ministry of Finance to promote tax reforms that support sustainable business growth. These collaboration above she said was done with other 7 business association, to amplify their voices for mutual benefits.
